Cu Chi Tunnels
Situated 30 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), the tunnel network was used for operations, surprise attacks and as a hide-out by the North Vietnamese during the Vietnamese war. The 250km long tunnels were an intricate network of underground shelters, trap-doors, storage facilities, living quarters and even field hospitals connected together forming several subterranean layers. You have to squeeze through a section of the tunnels which have been enlarge for tourist. Some soldier hid in the tunnels for years.
